You’ve been through an extraordinary year. Welcome to an extraordinary conference experience.

In a year marked with creative solutions and groundbreaking advancements in independent school technology, the Association of Technology Leaders in Independent Schools is prepared to deliver an immersive recalibration experience in the form of an annual conference. This is unlike any conference you’ve ever attended.

Welcome to ATLIS 2021: Undaunted.
In our truly unique approach, “ATLIS 2021: Undaunted” will be a blended conference, offering two options for registration:

Virtual Annual Conference -- Join us for pre-conference networking activities on April 11 and key sessions on April 12-13. The virtual experience will deliver the core content and keynote speakers, along with opportunities for community members to apply their learning and share with each other. The goal of the virtual conference is to make attendees feel in control and undaunted. For your investment in a single registration pass, your entire school leadership team can attend. That’s right--as many people from your school as you’d like with a whole-school registration.

Optional add-on in-person retreat -- For those who can join us in person in Seattle on April 26-27, we will host a workshopping retreat to build on the content delivered during the virtual Annual Conference. This networking event will employ significant measures to ensure the safety of attendees while providing an in-person retreat experience designed to explore the future of independent school technology leadership.

The Content
The core virtual Annual Conference content is being designed to give you back a feeling of control. Leveraging thought leaders such as keynote speakers Homa Tavangar and Will Richardson, co-founders of the Big Questions Institute, we’ll guide you down the path of asking the right questions to figure out how you can best serve your school at this phase of the recovery and discover just what you need to put in place for the future.
Homa Tavangar, "Nurture Belonging & Deeper Learning for Global, Cultural & Racial Competence"
Homa Tavangar, throughout her career, has addressed themes of culture, innovation, leadership, global competence, and deep diversity, equity, belonging and inclusion. She is the author of Growing Up Global: Raising Children to Be At Home in the World and other works. Growing Up Global was the inspiration behind NBC-Universal’s animated series Nina’s World.

Will Richardson, "Learning in a Post-Pandemic World: What's Changed (and Is Changing) About Education and Schools"
Named one of 100 global "Changemakers in Education" by the Finnish site HundrED and one of the Top 5 "Edupreneurs to Follow" by Forbes, Will Richardson has authored six books and has given TEDx Talks in New York, Melbourne, and Vancouver.

Early sessions each day will be devoted to providing the context you need for assessing where you are now as we work through our active recovery and wrestling with where to go next while sustaining innovations from the past year. Later sessions will engage attendees in a variety of formats, from guided conversations to quick Soapbox Solutions offered by your colleagues across the independent school landscape, all to help you apply what you have learned and uncover real take-aways. Special topics crowd-sourced from the community include leadership and productivity, teaching and learning, IT systems and support, DEI and technology, and cybersecurity and data safety.

 Speaking Opportunities

We are looking for solutions-oriented speakers to share their experiences and expertise with the calm confidence of undaunted leadership.  We offer a number of ways for you to share your story.

Soapbox Solutions: Submit a 5-minute video of your story, hack, or recommendation by February 28 to [email protected]

Master Classes: Offer your expert lesson in a 20-minute video to be shared live and followed by a deeper dive conversation or activity. Proposals are being accepted.

Application Conversations: Dig into the issues that matter for your school in a breakout panel or presentation. All conversations should wrestle with topics crowdsourced from our community: Cybersecurity & Data Safety, DEI and Tech, IT Systems & Support, Leadership & Productivity, Teaching & Learning. Proposals are being accepted.

Context Presentations: These featured presentations will provide a sense of context or foundational knowledge for making sense of the larger topics guiding our learning each day: Active Recovery (Day 1) and Sustaining Innovation (Day 2). Proposals are being accepted.

ATLIS 2021 Undaunted. Annual Conference Refund Policy
Because the ATLIS conference is being conducted virtually, we are unable to offer refunds for the 2021 event. This is in keeping with our posted refund policy that all attendees are asked to acknowledge when registering. This year’s all-school registration provides access to multiple attendees from the same school, and recordings will be available after the live event, enabling all participants to obtain full value from their registration investment.

Retreat participants can register with confidence, knowing that they will receive a 100% refund if we are unable to gather in person in Seattle.

ATLIS appreciates your patience and understanding. Contact [email protected] with questions or requests.

You can register with confidence, knowing that the virtual Annual Conference will take place as planned and the in-person retreat is 100% refundable if we are unable to gather in person. The hotel will allow you to cancel your room without penalty up to 48 hours before your reservation (if canceled within 48 hours, the fee will be equal to one night’s stay), and many airlines continue to offer flexible booking options.
