Jill BrownDr. Jill Brown

Now in her 19th year at Albuquerque Academy and her 30th year in education, Jill Brown is the school’s Global Online Academy Site Director, the Advanced Placement Exams Coordinator, and TEDxYouthDay Coordinator. Jill has served on the Boards of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and the New Mexico Association of Nonpublic Schools (NMANS), as well as on the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Innovation Task Force. She is a co-founder of ISTE’s Independent Schools Educators Network (ISEN) and the New Mexico Society for Technology in Education (NMSTE) in collaboration with ISTE and the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN). Jill has been recognized with the ATLIS Pillar Award (2018), the ISTE Independent Schools Educator Award (2017), and Making IT Happen (2010); she is also a CoSN Volunteer Hall of Fame Inductee. She volunteers for the New Mexico Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and is a vocalist in a local band, CHill. 

Ethan DelavanEthan Delavan

An educator and media producer since 1995, Ethan began teaching drama to all ages. He then served as a middle school technology teacher, creating the first comprehensive media production and design curriculum in Seattle. Moving on to oversee professional development and technology at a K-8 school for the gifted, he founded Greater Seattle’s Middle School Media Festival, which he still organizes. He joined the board of 911 Media Arts Center in the early part of the 21st century and went on to serve on the board of the National Association for Media Literacy Education, chairing their 2013 Conference. He now serves on the board of Washington State’s Action 4 Media Education, where he helped draft the first legislation to be passed in the United States mandating media literacy in schools. He is the Director of Technology at The Bush School, a K-12 progressive school in Seattle, where he oversees IT and library, as well as curriculum design and professional development around innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology. He has made many documentary and promotional videos for nonprofit clients and public television. He whiles away his free time reading books about the intersection of technology and culture and playing whatever instrument his daughter thinks will best accompany her fiddle.

LucyLucy Gray

Lucy Gray is currently the Director of Educational Technology at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Illinois. Her career began in the Chicago Public School system where she taught primary grades and went on to serve in various capacities related to educational technology at the University of Chicago's Laboratory Schools, Urban Education Institute, and Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education. Lucy also has worked as an innovation consultant over the years and is the co-founder of the online Global Education Conference. Lucy holds a B.A from Beloit College in Art History and Elementary Education and an M.Ed from National Louis University in Technology in Education. She has received the distinctions of Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Innovator.

Theresa JayTheresa Rubico Jay

Thayer Academy (MA)

An engineer, educator, lecturer, Theresa designed computer processing chips until her classroom experience teaching electrical-mechanical engineering began in 1994. By 1997 she was a Director of Technology securing a half a million dollars in technology grant funding. Theresa enjoys designing clever ways to integrate technology into the curriculum and devoted her tech director career to creating playful learning environments showcasing emerging technologies. At Thayer she started the Technology Fellows program where students can choose a coding language to learn. Recently she worked with female students on an OpenSCAD program designing jewelry to 3D print. She strategically planned an innovation tech center and two collaborative design labs, and a mobile cloud strategy. She is currently working a design for a computing and engineering lab. Theresa holds a BS from Boston University and a M.Ed from UMass Boston. She is a past Vice-President of METAA. Follow her @tjay_ta .

Larry KahnLarry Kahn

Larry Kahn has 36 years experience leading all phases of technology implementation and integration, including research, planning, and strategic execution in both the business and education sectors. For the past 16 years, he has led K-12 independent schools, boarding and day, single sex and coed, as they have harnessed technology in service of learning. Larry served on the Innovation Task Force for the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS)and was recognized as the 2018 Outstanding Educator by the International Society for Technology in Education Independent School Educators Network. As CTO at TVS in Fort Worth, Larry oversees the school's Academic Technology, Operational Technology, and Information Technology.

Dave LevinDave Levin

Coming from a background in religious studies and organic agriculture, Dave is still a certified geek who was building PC clones at home and hosting FTP sites out of his college dorm room to trade live concert recordings. Who knew that a college help desk job would lead to a master's degree in learning technologies and a career supporting educators!? Dave has held numerous positions in the decade+ he’s worked at Head-Royce: help desk technician, systems administrator, garden teacher, director of academic technology, and currently director of technology. In his time at Head-Royce he has forged lasting relationships with faculty that has allowed for innovations with and changes to technology use: transitioning the school to G Suite, helping to craft and launch the school’s first 1:1 iPad program, overhauling the wired and wireless infrastructure, alongside elevating the support and leadership work that the tech department provides. Current focusses includes work on emergency communications systems, teaching a 9th grade activity on tech habits, addictions, and empowerment, and working with our senior leadership to ensure that our professional digital habits and processes speak to and guide the human relationships that are at their core.

Howard LevinHoward Levin

Convent & Stuart Hall Schools of the Sacred Heart (CA)

Howard has an eclectic mix of experiences gained from over 30 years as a lead K-12 administrator, educational technology director, high school teacher, and academic department chair. Before his current position, he spent 12 years leading educational technology at the Urban School of San Francisco (9-12), which was among the first 1:1 laptop programs in California. He also founded Telling Their Stories: Oral History Archives Project, earning Urban the prestigious National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Leading Edge Award. Previously, he served as Assistant Head of the Jewish Day School in Bellevue, WA (K-8) and taught history at the Overlake School in Redmond, WA (5-12). Howard has written and presented extensively throughout the country on effective integration of technology, student conducted oral history scholarship, and more recently on transforming classroom learning spaces. He has served multiple national organizations including on the governing board of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), on the NAIS Innovation Task Force, and the Education Committee of the Oral History Association.

With over twenty-five years of strategic, tactical, and operational technology experience, Dr. Maxwell creates innovative environments and applications that harness the power of emerging technologies and neuroscience to enhance the educator's reach to better engage students and foster a culture of innovation in organizations. Her areas of interest include Augmented Analytics, Immersive Experiences, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, STEAM programs, and Smart Spaces.  Marsha has also been very active in bringing STEM/STEAM initiatives to life, especially for underserved and underrepresented groups throughout their educational journey from kindergarten to university and beyond. She has been a featured speaker for educational summits and workshops for Microsoft, Apple, and Google for her skills in education technology, innovation leadership, strategic analysis and decision-making, and equity & inclusion in technology.

Jeffrey MorrisonDr. Jeffrey Morrison

Vice-President of the ATLIS Board of Directors, Jeff holds professional teaching certifications in nine educational content areas in the State of Georgia, including Educational Leadership and Gifted Education. In addition to leading educational technology initiatives at  Trinity, Jeff is an Adjunct Professor of Educational Leadership and Educational Technology in the Bagwell College of Education’s Instructional Technology Graduate Program at Kennesaw State University. He has earned a Ph.D with a research focus on pedagogical relations in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at Georgia State University and holds a Masters Degree in Science Education and an Advanced Degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University.

Tony PerezTony Perez

Tony has most recently served as the Director of Information and Innovative Technology at the Atlanta Children’s School. While at TCS he re-defined the school’s Digital Literacy program, expanded the 1:1 iPad program to grades 2-5, launched a 1:1 laptop program in the school’s new middle school, and implemented a new LMS, MDM, and Google’s G-Suite. Prior to TCS, he served as Director of Technology and Media at the Atlanta Girls’ School where guided the state’s third oldest 1:1 laptop program . During his tenure, the school was named as Georgia’s first Apple Distinguished School, launched a 1:1 iPad program in middle grades, worked with girls to find their own voice in social media, and in what was thought of as a “crazy” concept in 2011, replaced the school’s interactive boards with iPad and Apple TVs, allowing teachers to more easily present and collaborate with their students. Altogether, Tony brings over 20 years of technology experience from hardware, to systems, to networks, to classroom tech use. He has spoken nationally, regionally, and locally on a variety of ed-tech related subjects.

Renee RamigDr. Renee Ramig

Renee is in her 35th year of Technology in Education. She started working with Commodore 64s and soon graduated to Apple IIes. She has taught middle school math and English in addition to a variety of technology courses to K-12 students. She has spent time in Catholic, public, and independent schools during her 35-year career. Renee regularly speaks at conferences, writes for a variety of education and technology publications, and offers professional development workshops at schools. Her primary area of expertise is helping school leaders to evaluate and create plans to productively and positively grow, primarily in areas involving technology.

At SF Day, Christopher led the implementation of his second 1:1 iPad program and helped design its Innovation Lab. He previously spearheaded efforts at San Domenico School that culminated in that school being named an Apple Distinguished School. He is a scholar-practitioner who brings a research and analysis lens to his efforts. Christopher earned his educational doctorate in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

Although centered at the Lower School, Jenni works across divisions to develop an ever-evolving digital citizenship curriculum. She has helped integrate iPads at Lower School since 2011 with a focus on pedagogy and purpose. Jenni speaks and runs workshops about digital citizenship, digital literacy, learning with iPads, and other topics in schools and at conferences. For eight years, she served as Chair of the National Association of Independent Schools Innovation Task Force, an advisory group for the National Association of Independent Schools. Jenni writes about the challenges of parenting and participating in the the online world on her blog, Reflections on a Digital World.

Vinnie has focused his 32-year career on leveraging technology in meaningful and authentic ways for learners. He is currently in his sixth year at Kinkaid, where he is responsible for all aspects of technology across every division, department, and constituency group on the school’s campus. Prior to his arrival in Texas, he was the Director of Academic Technology at the North Shore Country Day School and Quest Academy, both in Illinois, for a total of 21 years. As a technology leader and NAIS Teacher of the Future, Vinnie is currently  focused on implementing technology enhanced learning environments for all learners, including designing physical and virtual learning spaces and environments, developing a balanced, human-centered approach to our use of technology, and creating a secure environment for users. 

Natalia WalchliNatalia Walchli

Natalia Walchli is an experienced teacher, who encourages risk taking in her students and colleagues. She has been an educator for fourteen years and presently Chair of Research Design and Production at Gulliver Schools and a pedagogical coach. She holds a M.Ed in elementary education from the University of Miami and is a Google Certified Educator and a Hapara Certified Educator. Natalia promotes a shift in pedagogy towards student led learning that fosters play, passion, and purpose. Natalia and her husband Adrian are the proud parents of two daughters.
