Samantha Walsh
|
Samantha joined ATLIS in November 2021 as an Executive Assistant. With ATLIS, Samantha plans to assist in managing the rapidly growing membership base at ATLIS, provide administrative support to the Executive Director, and manage side projects. She has over half a decade of experience in nonprofit school recruitment and personal leadership education. Previously, Samantha had been making the bridge from the company vision to written policies for increased work-life balance, DEI initiatives, and managing company growth. At home, Samantha is currently a part-time student and resides in Virginia with her spouse and 50 houseplants. |

Before joining the ATLIS staff, Ashley served as a Director of Technology, a district-level Instructional Technology Specialist, and an educator. An alumna of the first cohort of the ATLIS Leadership Institute (formerly ECATD), Ashley has also worked with the Tennessee Department of Education, served on national advisory boards for organizations such as Scholastic, collaborated internationally with groups ranging from the Global Ed Conference to Singapore’s Ministry of Education, and lobbied for STEM programs for women and minorities. As a graduate assistant, she worked on a National Science Foundation grant on the topic of STEM and flipped classrooms for schools on three continents. Her own research has explored makerspaces in K-12 schools as an application of constructivist learning. Ashley has extensive conference planning experience, including ShiftinEdu (formerly Miami Device), the Tennessee Educational Technology Conference, the Sumner County Education Conference, and EdCamp meet-ups. Ashley is a Google Certified Innovator, Apple Teacher, and a STAR Discovery Educator. She holds a doctorate in Learning Technologies from Pepperdine University. Susan has been harnessing technology to hack education at universities and at independent schools for more than three decades -- as a techy teacher-leader of English and Language Arts, as a radical administrator, as an educational technology director, and as an edtech explorer. Following her MFA from George Mason University in Creative Writing, she earned a Certificate in Educational Technology Leadership from Goucher College and has married learning and technological innovations ever since -- blogging for Getting Smart and presenting or keynoting at conferences; serving as an online teacher, social media consultant, and virtual coach; and providing independent consulting on how to support best practices for innovative classrooms with constantly evolving digital tools. Kelsea Watson joined ATLIS in July, 2021 as membership and professional development manager. Watson has extensive experience in the non-profit and association sectors, having supported a variety of programs for both global and local organizations. As part of the ATLIS team, she will serve the association’s growing membership and the broader independent school community with membership and professional development resources.“We are fortunate to bring someone with Kelsea’s experience and energy to our team right as many exciting initiatives are taking shape and launching at ATLIS,” said Christina Lewellen, MBA, CAE, ATLIS’s executive director. “The entire ATLIS team is steadfastly focused on our strategic goals designed to serve our community in the coming years, and we’re confident Kelsea will be a significant contributor to our efforts to empower schools to thrive through technology leadership.”Watson is a graduate of James Madison University and has completed a certificate program in diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace from the University of South Florida.
