Join us for a two-day seminar on this critically important topic.  This workshop is designed and led by experienced independent school technology leaders who understand the balance technology leaders must maintain between providing access to valuable resources and protecting school constituents. Each aspect of the workshop will be taught with a specific lens on the independent school technology environment. 

Attendees will depart the workshop prepared to lead an independent school through the security review process and undertake the steps necessary to ensure improved security for all areas (development, admissions, business, and academic functions), as well as the security of individual community constituents.  Register HERE for the workshop.

Workshop Leaders 

Jamie BrittoJamie Britto is the Chief Information Officer at Collegiate School in Richmond, VA. His responsibilities include infrastructure, data systems, and cyber security.  In June 2016, Jamie was recognized by Infotech as a CIO Award winner for medium size organizations. At Collegiate, Jamie has been working with and learning from a variety of experts in  the technology, legal, and insurance industries to understand the emerging field of cyber security and how those understandings might apply to independent schools. Prior to joining Collegiate, Jamie was the technology director and upper school director at Cape Fear Academy in Wilmington North Carolina. Jamie has collaborated with other risk management leaders at his school to develop strategies and plans for: 

  • Comprehensive security policies and procedures
  • Payment Card Information Digital Security Standards
  • Business Continuity Planning
  • End User Training
  • Evaluation of Cyber Liability Insurance
  • External Audit of Cyber Security

His recent work in cybersecurity includes articles and presentations for the National Business Officers Association (NBOA) (2015), MISBO (2015), the Virginia Business Officer’s Institute (2016), and for ATLIS (2016.)  Jamie recently contributed to the Fall 2018 edition of Independent School magazine with his article, "What Independent Schools Need to Know about Cybersecurity," a follow-up to his "Greetings from Kazakhstan" about "an eye-opening journey into the realm of cybersecurity" written for NBOA's Net Assets.  

Denise MusselwhiteDenise Musselwhite is a passionate servant leader nationally known for outstanding technology leadership in the independent school sector.  She is an innovative visionary with keen technical expertise who specializes in strategic planning, leadership development, and project management. Denise has served as the Chief Information Officer at Trinity Preparatory School since 2000.  Over her more than 20 year career, she has been a featured speaker and consultant in the independent school sector in the United States and in Europe. Denise has served on the faculty of this ATLIS workshop since its inception.
